I can’t create a new profile, because when I follow the instructions set out above and test the settings, I can’t log in, and get a “The server cannot be found error.
I cannot check the properties of my existing profile because the Mail setup dialog crashes with a “Windows Shell Common dll is not responding” error.

Outlook 16 won’t allow manual input of the exchange server settings, and instead relies on the admin to publish them so that Outlook can find them. I’m waiting to hear back, but I don’t think my mail server has published the autodiscover settings.
I had had the same problem so I made the new profile. It worked well: using, closing and opening again was fine.
