Yes of course the CC version and the stand alone version of LR 5 are the exact same program but there was, at one time, a separate download for the stand alone version. Adobe allows anyone to download any of the LR versions from 3 back to 1 but not LR 4 or 5.
Yes, I understand all that. However, I have never been caught in this dilemma since I switched over to the Creative Cloud and don’t know how to respond to those who are caught in it. There is something very confusing about the download because they become confused.

Did some googling and tried some third party download websites. It accepts my LR 5 upgrade key and my LR 4 key. Notice that it complains about a invalid certificate during installation – just accept it and it installs correctly. You, sir, are a hero. I could not find Lightroom 5 to save my life. The one I DLed from the adobe site wouldn’t open.

Any ideas? If those links no longer work, contact customer services as they’ll be able to send you a copy although they might try to sell you the subscription first. I do not see a Lightroom 5 anywhere on this link. Please help need software for a dinosaur!
